Sharon spent 30 years as a licensed Medical Technologist and Administrative Director of Emergency Preparedness for Henry Ford Hospital's Northeast Region. She was selected as employee of the year. First thing she did when she retired was to back-pack through Europe covering five countries in three weeks. Travel throughout the U.S. and Europe is still a yearly priority.
Now she teaches line dancing, clogging, and jewelry classes at three senior centers as a volunteer. She directs and performs in shows for the Ms. Senior Michigan Board as well as taking every chance to perform at nursing homes. Her dancing career spans the past 35 years. She treasures her membership in the Shanegang Cloggers, an internationally know dance troupe
One husband, four children and eight grandchildren keep her busy, happy and proud. Sharon is currently a third year doctoral candidate in Educational Leadership. Hobbies include making lap robes for wheelchair patients (50 robes to date donated to nursing homes), silversmithing, entering floats in parades (trophy winners), entering juried art fairs (numerous blue ribbons), sewing and taking vocal lessons.
The 2008 Ms Senior America National Pageant

The Ms. Senior America Pageant is
the world's first and foremost pageant to emphasize and give honor to
women who have reached the "Age of Elegance." It is a search
for the gracious lady who best exemplifies the dignity, maturity and
inner beauty of all senior Americans. The Ms. Senior America philosophy is
based upon the belief that seniors are the foundation of America, and our
most valuable treasure. It is upon their knowledge, experience and
resources that the younger generation has the opportunity to build a
better society.
