CONGRATULATIONS to the lovely and talented LINDA HUNTLEY Ms. Virginia Senior America 2010,   and a special thanks to State Director AnnMarie Pittman and the State of Viginia's Sponsors for a another beautiful pageant and successful year!

Linda was born in Ronceverte, WV, and moved to Staunton, Virginia at the age of five. She has lived in this same area all of her life except for two years. Being an only child, Linda spent most of her time in church (living right next door) and being involved in music and majorettes. She started majorette training at the age of five, piano lessons at the age of six, and clarinet lessons at the age of eight. She played piano and sang solos for her church and her elementary school assemblies immediately after starting lessons. She sang in her church choir at a very early age. She was an accomplished singer until a complicated thyroid surgery ended her ability to sing or even speak for a few years. She became a national majorette champion at the age of nine. During her high school years, she was a drum major for her band as well as a majorette. She played several instruments in the band and competed in many piano and clarinet contests. She was also a high school cheerleader. After graduating as an honor student, she graduated as valedictorian of her business college.

Linda married her high school sweetheart and they have been blessed with 44 years of marriage as well as two very successful children and four grandchildren whom she spends a lot of time with. Most of her work career was as an administrative assistant with the State of Virginia. Since retiring as Sales Manager of the historic Stonewall Jackson Hotel in Stauton, Virginia, she spends her days as co-owner along with her husband and son of a log home construction complany. She also is co-owner with her daughter of an event and wedding planning company. She assists her daughter in her interior design business as well as competition cheerleading school and gym. She also does contract work with a local caterer, and is a certified medical transcriptionist.

Linda is the year-round volunteer director of the Miss Virginia Association of Fairs Scholarship Pageant - statewide, encompassing all counties in the State of Virginia - working closely with over 30 contestants and 75 directors. She is responsible for raising all scholarship monies, coordinating and executing all aspects of a four-day event. She is a fundraiser for her local YMCA and president of her condominium association. She also has served as a guest speaker for the Virginia Association of Fairs Conference. She has served as a Stephen Minister for the Verona United Methodist Church.

Linda enjoys working out daily at her local YMCA. She is a member of a ladies tap dance troupe, Diane and Company, who entertain statewide. She chaperones the current Miss Virginia Association of Fairs on all of her appearances. She has been involved in judging and sitting on the Board of Directors for the Miss Virginia Scholarship Pageant (local pageant). She drives her own motorcycle and has participated in several benefit runs with different civic groups for fundraisers - one being the Town of Herndon Police Department.

Linda's life is very full and complete. Life seems to go extremely fast as you age, so her goal is to live every day to its fullest. Wow, what a great ride she is having!

The Ms. Senior America Pageant is the world's first and foremost pageant to emphasize and give honor to women who have reached the "Age of Elegance." It is a search for the gracious lady who best exemplifies the dignity, maturity and inner beauty of all senior Americans. The Ms. Senior America philosophy is based upon the belief that seniors are the foundation of America, and our most valuable treasure. It is upon their knowledge, experience and resources that the younger generation has the opportunity to build a better society.
