CONGRATULATIONS to the Lovely and Talented, LESLIE STOTT,   on capturing the title of Ms. Utah Senior America 2011! and a special thanks to Janet Seamons for a fabulous pageant.

Leslie was born in Pocatello, Idaho. A few months later her family moved to Miami, Florida. After living there a couple of years they moved to Akron, Ohio. At the age of nine the family moved to Flint, Michigan and that is where she "grew up".

At the age of 11, Leslie was selected to try out for the summer production of the Fine Arts Children's Festival. Anxiously eyeing the part of Alice in "Alice in Wonderland," she got the part of Humpty Dumpty. She was crushed. That was back in the day when there were no microphones. The director's assured her that she received the part because she could project her voice through the shell. She continued to be involved in the Fine Arts Festival until she graduated from High School. She was involved in theater in junior and high school. At high school graduation she was given a National Thespian award, ranking 3rd in the nation.

After graduation she was off to Brigham Young University. After completing one year and a half, she married and began her family. She came back to the University, taking a few classes here and there. Not knowling anything about computers, she went to visit a friend at work. She was fascinated and thought "I can do this". She took as many courses as she could in computers for a semester. Leslie said "It was like drinking from a fire hydrant". She was hired by WordPerfect to work technical support. When she was expecting her last child, she quit work to become a full time mom. However, she still had a small business that she has been running for over 30 years, Personal Image Resource Center.

She went back to school for the last time in 1999; she was 48 years young. She was 16 credits away from a degree in theater. However, those credits could be in anything upper division because she had already fulfilled her requirements for the theater. By this time she had decided that she wanted to work with computers. In the spring of 2001 she received her BS degree in Business Management with an emphasis in Information Systems. She graduated with a double major in Theater Arts.

Leslie worked as a trainer for Imagine Learning, a software company that teaches children English as a second language. She traveled all over the country teaching teachers how to use the program. Leslie said she loved working with the teachers. She has a great appreciation for teachers and the sacrifices they make for our children.

A little over a year ago, Leslie stepped down from her position as a trainer and became CEO of Color 1 Associates, an international Image and Style company. She is know as "The Color Lady", and does color charting to help individuals find their best look. "I dont make people beautiful" Leslie said. "I show them that they already are. It is so fun to watch people on this journey. Its like a treasure hunt finding what makes them come alive and look radiant." She also loves training new Associates so that they can help people.

It is a search for the gracious lady who best exemplifies the dignity, maturity and inner beauty of all senior Americans. The Ms. Senior America philosophy is based upon the belief that seniors are the foundation of America, and our most valuable treasure. It is upon their knowledge, experience and resources that the younger generation has the opportunity to build a better society.
