CONGRATULATIONS TO Debbie Sidoti, MS. RHODE ISLAND SENIOR AMERICA 2005! And special thanks to ... for another successful year as Director of the Rhode Island State Pageant.
Debbie is married to Sam. She has one son. She has been singing since the age of seven and loves to entertain.

Debbie performed in the 2005 National Senior America Pageant in Las Vegas, Nevada.
And, Debbie was selected by the panel of judges to compete in the finals as part of the Top Ten Finalists.

My very first memories of my life are of me singing. I remember my Father used to stand me on top of our dining room table and have me sing for his friends. I won first prize at a movie theatre at the tender age of seven. I can see it in my minds eye as though it were yesterday. I was one of four girls with no brothers, and therefore my Dad was very strict. However, in spite of this, he realized that my whole world revolved around my singing. So in spite of himself, he agreed to have me sing with a thirteen piece dance orchestra at the age of fifteen under one condition. The band leader’s father had to pick me up and take me home, and he wouldn’t have it any other way. I had a wonderful family and a good life, but I was never able to catch that brass ring, because my Father believed that a good girl came home every night no matter how great her dreams were. So I married the trumpet player in the band, only to be divorced three years later. I am now married to a wonderful man and have a son whom I adore. My husband treats me like a queen, and my son and I have a very special bond. I feel that my life is truly complete now. I am still singing and making people happy. One of my great joys is watching the smiling faces when I perform at nursing homes. I haven’t caught that brass ring yet, but who knows. I am still young at heart, and stranger things have happened. Right?

It is a search for the gracious lady who best exemplifies the dignity, maturity and inner beauty of all senior Americans. The Ms. Senior America philosophy is based upon the belief that seniors are the foundation of America, and our most valuable treasure. It is upon their knowledge, experience and resources that the younger generation has the opportunity to build a better society.
