Jane was the youngest of 5 girls, born and raised in a small town in Tennessee. She grew up singing in her church and school choirs. She majored in Physical Education and taught for several years in her hometown. Jane married her high school sweetheart several years later, and they moved around the south following her husband’s career.
Jane and her husband raised their 3 children as they moved from Huntsville Alabama, Columbus, Georgia, and Charlotte, North Carolina. Jane often found herself teaching at the same schools her children were attending. Despite all the moves, her children blossomed and excelled in school, sports, and other activities.
In 1996, with their children grown and out of the house, Jane moved from Mobile, Alabama to Chandler Arizona. While her husband continued to work, Jane found new interests in bridge, horseback riding, china painting, and pursued her life long dream of taking piano lessons. She volunteered at Chandler Regional Hospital, and with the Assistance League of the East Valley. She has been a member of the Mesa Christian Woman’s Club for more than 10 years.
Jane has also discovered a love of singing. She started singing Karaoke, and developed into singing in Senior Variety shows in Chandler and in the Sunbird Community. She currently sings with her partner for private shows all around the state, she has been a featured performer at our Arizona State Fair and will be so again at the end of October.
Jane is enjoying retirement and loves the opportunity that being Ms. Senior Arizona 2009 is giving her to reach out and give back her community. Her positive attitude in the face of hardship and adversity is an inspiration to all who know her.

The Ms. Senior America Pageant is
the world's first and foremost pageant to emphasize and give honor to
women who have reached the "Age of Elegance." It is a search
for the gracious lady who best exemplifies the dignity, maturity and
inner beauty of all senior Americans. The Ms. Senior America philosophy
is based upon the belief that seniors are the foundation of America, and
our most valuable treasure. It is upon their knowledge, experience and
resources that the younger generation has the opportunity to build a better
society.
